大型語言模型 (Large Language Models, LLMs) 具有極其強大的自然語言處理能力。通過龐大的數據訓練，這些模型能夠與用戶進行互動，實現人機協作，並有效解決各種問題。它們甚至可以在特定領域提供專業建議。然而，LLMs 也存在顯著的局限性。當面對新知識或異常情況時，這些模型可能無法準確地回答或處理。此外，由於它們的回答僅反映了訓練數據中的思維和偏好，模型生成的內容可能存在偏見。如果模型停止學習，就無法獲取新知識，導致信息更新速度跟不上現實世界的變化。最後，隨著模型規模的增加，需要的計算資源和儲存空間也會大幅增加，這限制了在資源受限的設備或環境中的應用。因此，檢索增強生成 (Retrieval-Augmented Generation, RAG) 應運而生。RAG 技術結合了檢索式和生成式方法，通常應用於自然語言處理領域，尤其是在對話系統和問答系統中。這種方法的優勢在於同時利用了檢索式方法的高效性和生成式方法的靈活性，從而提高系統的準確性和自然度。檢索增強生成廣泛應用於各種領域，包括智能助手、問答系統和推薦系統等。
